Pollyteach is an established independent school and alternative provision for children (aged 8-16) with a range of special educational needs and learning disabilities. We are looking for motivated and enthusiastic Learning Mentors to join our thriving team here at Pollyteach. We are looking for someone who can engage our learners by delivering high quality sessions across all core subjects and PSHE. Along with academic subjects, we also offer engagement activities such as sport and art.
The successful candidate will be driven and passionate about providing a high quality of learning and will be focused on enabling students to engage and succeed in their education. A calm, patient and understanding nature is a must in this challenging, yet incredibly rewarding environment. Along with delivery, planning and engagement, this role also involves maintaining accurate records, therefore written communication and IT skills are required.
We are seeking Learning Mentors to work mainly at our new site in Retford; however, induction training and staff shadowing may take place across our different sites, and there may be requirement, as part of the role, to work across our multiple sites as required. This role is suitable for individuals with a relevant level 2-3 qualification; however, we welcome applications from people who feel that they have the right skills and attributes for the role, and are willing to work towards gaining relevant qualifications.

Qualifications and Experience
Essential
· Minimum Level 2 qualification in maths and English
Desirable
• Qualification in supporting teaching and learning
• A-Level / L3 qualifications
• Experience of working with children/young adults in an education, youth work or social work setting
Working Hours and location
Term time working (39 weeks): Typically Monday – Friday, 08:30 – 15:00 with a 30-minute unpaid break taken flexibly. There may be occasions when you will be required to work additional hours to deal with an issue or complete administrative tasks; this is accounted for within contracted hours.
The role will be based at one of our five Pollyteach sites in Kirkby-in-Ashfield, Blidworth, Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, or Mansfield. While we will try to take your preference into account, you may be required to work from any site in accordance with business needs.
You will also be required to support the learner outdoors and/or off-site in various engagement activities.
